Melbourne Buses

Melbourne Buses are used to supplement the tram routes and are operated by a variety of companies. They can be used with the same tickets as trains and trams. Few bus services reach the city centre, but in the suburbs of the city buses are more common.

Long-distance buses use two different bus stations in the city centre. Services operated by V-Line, Premier and Firefly, as well as the Airport Bus service, use the bus station outside Spencer Street Station.

Premier runs buses between Melbourne and Sydney via the coast. Firefly runs buses between Melbourne and Sydney by the direct inland route, and between Melbourne and Adelaide. Services operated by McCafferty's and Greyhound use a bus station in Franklin Street. McCafferty's and Greyhound operate buses between Melbourne and Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.
